Your next step

Apply to OEDIT at least four to six weeks before your trip or planned work. Check which costs qualify before you spend. Send your claim within 30 days after your trip.

Start with OEDIT ↗

Prepare before you apply

  • Describe your product and target market. Explain why you chose it. Include your company finances and a budget that lists each cost.
  • Estimate export sales after the work and after six months. The company must apply itself. A consultant cannot apply for you.
  • Allow time to activate the OEDIT portal account. New users are added manually, which can take several days.

What to watch

  • OEDIT lists trade trips, export legal work, translation and marketing abroad among the costs it may fund. Check each cost before you commit.
  • Staff pay, routine operating costs, flight upgrades and entertainment are excluded.
  • Allow three to four weeks for a decision. The award letter sets out the work and costs OEDIT will fund.

Our reading of the fit

This fits an established technology business testing a new export market. The need to pay costs first makes cash on hand as important as the award size.

An assessment of the published rules, not an award prediction.

Check business setup only if needed

A new LLC does not guarantee grant eligibility. Check the program rules before changing your business or paying for a service.
